Alright, stop laughing! We are doing the best we can in becoming the pack leader in our household. We are determined that our dogs will be obedient and well-mannered Aussies. So...that being said, we have found a method that dogs will pay attention to.
Why a Container?
A container can be used in a variety of ways. It's not expensive which for us was the number one priority. Now before you say that I'm nuts, hear me out.
- A container can make noise. Put a few pebbles inside the container and it makes a dreadful sound when you shake it or hit it against something. No! Do not hit your dog!
- It can be intimidating just by carrying it. It gets their attention and takes their mind off of what they were doing. However, if your dog is far enough away from you that you lose all control, then just toss the container near him and just see him or her come running back to you and promising to be the best "child" you ever did see.
- A container can be different sizes. We have a big container because we have big dogs. You don't have to use the same container as we do, however. If you have a smaller dog, or one that's overly timid, you can use something more like below. You can use even smaller or bigger, depending on your dog.

So is it possible to have someone or something that is the next best thing to Cesar Millan? My sister and I believe so. Our dogs are much better behaved now, and we actually enjoy their company. Sometimes all it takes is a little creativity when finances are tight or you just don't have the resources you'd like to have. Why not try it and see that there are other alternatives to Cesar Millan that will work.
